On the other hand it smells a little of a stopgap decision. On one hand it is praiseworthy that Sony is reviving accessories to be compatible with a new device. Sony is also re-using the Move controllers (glow sticks) that have been available for several years now. PS VR on the other hand uses the standard PS Camera that has been available for PS4 for some time. It requires you to set up all kinds of things in the room that you want to use for VR. To sort of give you an idea of the current landscape, HTC Vive came with a comprehensive package of extra devices and sensors. Unfortunately, we received PS VR before the launch of PS4 Pro so we tested it only with the original PS4. Sony has made it mandatory for all game developers to ensure that all games work with both PS4/Slim and PS4 Pro so no matter what console you have you can enjoy a decent VR experience, says Sony – if the game supports VR, of course. Sony's PlayStation VR "only" requires a PlayStation 4.
